When is the entry deadline?
All entries are to be either digitally submitted or postmarked no later than 11:59pm U.S. Pacific Time on Friday, October 15th, 2010.
Can I view the entries?
You can view the digital submissions at savethefrogs.com/artcontest.
Can I vote for a winner?
Shortly after the entry deadline passes, we will place the best artwork on a special page and ask you to vote for a winner. Please sign up for the mailing list to keep informed.
I'm having trouble uploading my artwork!!!
It's possible your file size is too large. Our system limits you to 1MB, so you should make sure to reduce the size of your photo to 640px on its longest side. Please see the Image Size Limits section of the Contest Rules for info on how to easily reduce your photo size.
Can I send e-cards of the frog art I like?
Yes! And we want you to, as it helps spread the word! Once you have registered and are logged in, you can rate the entries, leave comments, and send e-cards. The 'send e-card' option is an icon of an envelope to the top right of photos.
Can I mail in my artwork?
Indeed, you may mail us your artwork.
Who can enter?
Anybody! We encourage students and teachers to get their art classes involved. We encourage amateur and professional artists and graphic designers to take part as well. And the more countries represented the better!
How and when will winners be announced?
Winners will be announced on this page, and via the SAVE THE FROGS! mailing list, which you should join now if you haven't...it's a great way for us to stay in touch with you about important events and news in the world of frogs! We keep your info confidential and you can unsubscribe at any time!
How does frog art help SAVE THE FROGS!?
SAVE THE FROGS! has a multitude of uses for your frog art:
--The best art will be used on SAVE THE FROGS! t-shirts, postcards, posters and other eco-friendly, educational merchandise, to raise money for our worldwide amphibian conservation efforts.
--The best art will illustrate a volume of the SAVE THE FROGS! Poetry Book, which features the best poetry from our SAVE THE FROGS! Poetry Contest.
-- Some art will be auctioned off on eBay and at SAVE THE FROGS! Fundraisers we hold at art galleries to raise money for our worldwide amphibian conservation efforts.
-- We use the graphics on our website and in our marketing materials.
-- The artists gain a better appreciation for frogs...especially when
entire classrooms of students draw frog art!
-- Everybody who sees cool frog art will appreciate frogs more!
-- Even the kids' frog art is important: we include often include art as gifts in mailings to our supporters , and they always love the kids' frog art!
Will I be able to sell my original art?
We actually WANT you to distribute your artwork as widely as possible, as one of the goals of the Frog Art Contest is to raise awareness. Cafepress, Zazzle and other similar sites are great for this. If you plan to sell your submitted artwork, you will first need to submit it to us for approval and agree to the Artwork Terms & Conditions, a fairly quick and easy process (but one required for legal reasons to protect both SAVE THE FROGS! and yourself!). While we request you donate a portion of the earnings of your approved artwork to SAVE THE FROGS!, we do not require it.
How many entries am I allowed?
Please submit as much frog art as you like!
What other contests does SAVE THE FROGS! have?
Funny you should ask. We also have a Frog Poetry Contest, Frog Essay Contest, Frog Photo Contest, Frog Video Contest, and a Frog Song Contest.
If you have a video camera or webcam, you should record yourself reciting your Frog Poetry and enter the video into the SAVE THE FROGS! Video Contest.
Is SAVE THE FROGS! on Facebook and Twitter?
Yes! Be sure to become a fan of the SAVE THE FROGS! Facebook Page, and follow us on Twitter. Please tweet this contest, and post a link to this page on your Facebook page.
How much does it cost to enter?
The contest is free to enter!
I have a video camera, what can I do with it?
If you have a video camera, you could record yourself drawing Frog Art and then post the video on YouTube.
