A Mass Extinction of Frogs is Underway --
You Can Help!

Dear SAVE THE FROGS! Supporter,

I'm writing to ask you to make a tax-deductible donation to Save The Frogs. Less than three years ago, SAVE THE FROGS! did not even exist, but with your support we've quickly become the most effective amphibian conservation organization on the planet. If you have not seen it yet, please take a look at what we have accomplished in the last twelve months:
http://savethefrogs.com/what-we-do

I'm realistic though, and know that amphibian extinctions continue even as I write this letter:

-- Persistent droughts and record high temperatures are drying the breeding ponds that frogs and salamanders depend on;
-- Wetlands are being polluted with coal ash, pharmaceuticals and endocrine disrupting pesticides;
-- Chainsaws and bulldozers are destroying forests and filling in swamps;
-- The chytrid fungus is decimating stream-dwelling frogs in mountains throughout the world and degrading the Earth's biodiversity faster than any pathogen known to man;
-- Every day, human hunters are killing approximately 275,000 wild frogs for the meat on their legs.
-- United States high school biology students are preparing to dissect 320,000 wild-caught Northern Leopard Frogs this year, most completely unaware that excellent digital alternatives exist.
-- Invasive American Bullfrogs are eating native frogs throughout the American West and in 15 countries where they do not belong;
-- Poison Dart Frogs, Red-Eyed Treefrogs and Fire-Bellied Toads are being stolen from their forests, trafficked around the world and sold to human owners who will hold them as slaves against their will in confined tanks for the rest of their lives.

We've got our year's work cut out for us, but never have I been more certain of SAVE THE FROGS' potential!

Here's what we're going to do in 2011...with your support:

-- Hold 200 educational events in over 30 countries on the 3rd Annual Save The Frogs Day (April 29th, 2011).
-- Get the harmful pesticide Atrazine federally banned and out of production.
-- Get frog legs out of all 1,300 Food Lion supermarkets.
-- Get 200 high schools to abandon their dissection programs thereby saving 32,000 Northern Leopard Frogs from the scalpel annually.
-- Build 100+ backyard frog ponds around the world.
-- Restore habitat for endangered California Red-Legged Frogs at Antonelli Pond in Santa Cruz.
-- Give 100+ FREE presentations on amphibian conservation to the schools, businesses and community groups.
-- Make California the first state in the country to ban the importation and sale of American Bullfrogs.
-- Generally speaking, we will permeate schools and society at large with amphibian education, and drastically increase the number of people that not only care about but take action to protect frogs.

WITH YOUR SUPPORT THIS IS ALL POSSIBLE!

Please place the most generous donation you can afford and thereby ensure that we have the resources we need to SAVE THE FROGS! in 2011:
