Help us create a Public Service Announcement about Atrazine!
Dear SAVE THE FROGS! Supporter,
Earlier this year the EPA denied our petition to ban Atrazine, an endocrine-disrupting pesticide that can completely feminize male amphibians, fish and reptiles, and is linked to impaired fertility, breast cancer and prostate cancer in humans. The European Union banned Atrazine in 2004. The USDA has detected Atrazine in 94% of American tap water samples, and most corn grown in the USA is sprayed with Atrazine. However, the EPA continues to stall. As we pursue other methods of banning Atrazine, it is our job to educate as many Americans as possible about the harm caused by Atrazine so that we can get more public support and ultimately the governmental action we need.

"To allow the continued use and production of Atrazine, the EPA sets a dangerous precedent by condoning environmental destruction and implying that it is environmentally sound and ethical to dump poison on American soil -- and on Americans."

Meet the filmmakers: Jeremy Pelsinski and Cori Elwood
SAVE THE FROGS! is teaming up with Los Angeles based filmmakers Jeremy Pelsinski and Cori Elwood to make the video. Jeremy and Cori are professional biologists and long-time SAVE THE FROGS! volunteers whose main passion lie in the areas of conservation and public outreach; this led to their decision to pursue a Masters of Fine Arts program in Filmmaking in Los Angeles. They hope to use their knowledge of both the scientific and film communities to create works that are both entertaining and educational to general audiences and promote sustainability and conservation. The video they will create with your financial assistance will spread awareness about the harmful affects of Atrazine and encourage others to help in our effort to get it banned and out of production. The money raised through this fundraiser will pay for the production costs of their film. With your support, we can bring this project to life. Your contribution will help SAVE THE FROGS! spread awareness of the harmful effects of Atrazine and ultimately achieve our goal of a federal ban on the use and production of Atrazine. Donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law. Thank you for your support!
Jeremy and Cori thank you for your support! Cori is also producing a film about our work to end the illegal harvesting of Colombia's poison dart frogs for use in the international pet trade.
The EPA answers 13 questions related to Atrazine
On November 7th, 2013 I met with the Director of EPA’s Office of Pesticide Program (Dr. Steven Bradbury) and six of his staff in Arlington, VA to discuss Atrazine, and to deliver them an additional 17,000+ petition signatures. I have paraphrased the answers they gave to 13 of my questions:
