SAVE THE FROGS! 2013 Accomplishments

Thanks to all our supporters for making 2013 our most successful year ever! This year SAVE THE FROGS! educational programs reached 87 countries: Albania, Algeria, Australia, Austria, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Barbados, Belgium, Belize, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Canada, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Croatia, Czech Republic, Ecuador, Egypt, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Ghana, Guatemala, Guyana, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Iran, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Jamaica, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kuwait, Latvia, Lebanon, Lithuania, Macedonia, Madagascar, Malaysia, Mauritius, Mexico, Montenegro, Namibia, Nepal, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nigeria, Northern Ireland, Norway, Oman, Pakistan, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sri Lanka, St. Lucia, Sudan, Suriname, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Tanzania, Thailand, Turkey, Uganda, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, USA, Yemen, Zambia, Zimbabwe.

Conceived and coordinated by SAVE THE FROGS!, the 5th Annual Save The Frogs Day (April 27, 2013) was the largest day of amphibian education and conservation action in the planet's history. Over 270 educational events took place in at least 30 countries: Australia, Bangladesh, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Ghana, Guatemala, India, Israel, Italy, Madagascar, Malaysia, Mexico, Nepal, New Zealand, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines, Portugal, Romania, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Tanzania, Turkey, United Kingdom, and the USA. These events directly reached over 17,000 people! 

Conceived and coordinated by SAVE THE FROGS!, the 2013 SAVE THE FROGS! Art Contest received 3,097 entries from 42 countries! Entries came from: Algeria, Australia, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Barbados, Belgium, Belize, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Canada, China, Colombia, Croatia, France, Ghana, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Iran, Ireland, Jamaica, Kenya, Latvia, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines, Poland, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Thailand, Uganda, United Arab Emirates, and the USA. This contests helps to educate students, teachers, artists and environmentalists about amphibians.

Conceived and coordinated by SAVE THE FROGS!, the 2013 SAVE THE FROGS! Poetry Contest received 937 entries from 50 countries: Albania, Australia, Barbados, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, Egypt, France, Ghana, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Iran, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Jamaica, Kenya, Kuwait, Lebanon, Malaysia, Mauritius, Namibia, Nepal, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nigeria, Northern Ireland, Norway, Pakistan, Philippines, Qatar, Romania, Serbia, Singapore, South Africa, Sri Lanka, St. Lucia, Suriname, Taiwan, Tanzania, Thailand, Turkey, Uganda, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, USA, Yemen, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. This contests helps to educate students, teachers, poets and environmentalists about amphibians.

SAVE THE FROGS! Founder Dr. Kerry Kriger gave 24 educational presentations to a total of 1,847 participants, educating them about the importance of amphibians and ways to protect amphibian populations.

SAVE THE FROGS! led a successful campaign to protect endangered Fowler’s Toads in Canada from a 12-story condominium complex that was slated to be built on their habitat.
