If you are a student at a university, there is a high chance that you could actually get credit to be an intern with SAVE THE FROGS!. Interns learn valuable real-world skills while helping us accomplish our mission of protecting amphibian populations. Interns can be online or work at our headquarters. Interns must be motivated, responsible and able to work independently. Most internships require you spend 5-15 hours per week on your frog saving duties. Talk to your university's administrators to learn the details, then contact us if you are interested.

Spring 2013 Interns

Fernando Garcia

My name is Fernando Garcia and I am a second year student at UCSC studying Environmental Studies and Film. Since the days of my youth, I have been fascinated by nature and the wild aspects of the Earth. I decided to join SAVE THE FROGS! because I wanted to make an extra effort towards conservation and preserving the natural beauty of this planet. Though seemingly minuscule, amphibians offer the role of keystone species in countless ecosystems. Take them out of the equation and the entire structure begins to crumble. As a SAVE THE FROGS! intern, I am currently involved in a campaign that seeks to ban Atrazine in the U.S. This pesticide is infamously known to have detrimental effects on many frogs, including turning male frogs into females. In accordance with this objective, I am also working on promoting the International Day of Pesticide Action on October 12th. I also help out running SAVE THE FROGS! informational tables. You can read my February 2013 midterm report to learn more about my internship activities.

You can read Fernando's final evaluation of activities here.
