Want to help SAVE THE FROGS! get the gear we need to do our jobs as efficiently and safely as possible? On this page we list lots of items we currently need. If you order us something, please email us at contact@savethefrogs.com so we can remove the item from this page. If you see an item listed here, we still seek it; we will remove items as soon as they are ordered, so rest assured you will not be unnecessarily duplicating anyone else's gift. Need a receipt for tax-deduction purposes? Just email us the receipt for the goods and we'll write you up a donation receipt for the IRS. Thanks for helping SAVE THE FROGS!
All gifts should be sent to:

Help us reduce our paper printing costs and environmental impact, and facilitate our reading books and scientific papers while on the road by purchasing us a Sony E-Book Reader (black color).
A handheld digital audio recorder lets us record frog calls, educational presentations and interviews that we can then post on the SAVE THE FROGS! Audio page or create frog call CD's so that others can learn to identify frogs in the field or in the backyard. We'd appreciate if you ordered us the ultra-light and super-affordable Zoom H2n.
FACT: There is currently no compilation of recordings of Ghana's frog calls, making it difficult to train scientists or students to correctly identify frogs.
Between burning through batteries in headlamps while doing fieldwork, and other day to day activities, we go through a lot of batteries. To save money and the planet, we prefer rechargeables. Such batteries cannot be purchased in Ghana; SAVE THE FROGS! Ghana therefore would appreciate if you could send:
8 AA batteries
8 AAA batteries
Two charging units
SAVE THE FROGS! Ghana currently has no way to back up data...that's not good! External hard drives are extremely expensive in Ghana, but they are under $100 in the USA...we seek two 1 TB Western Digital external hard drives that we can send over to Ghana.
SAVE THE FROGS! Ghana currently has one total computer. It is so bashed up and old that the laptop screen falls over if not propped up. Its keys are falling off the keyboard and it has a very small hard drive. Oh yeah, it's on loan from the Zoological Society of London and is due back to them at the end of the year. So we need to find two quality laptops to ship to Ghana, for Gilbert Adum (Executive Director) and an office assistant. We can accept your fully functional used laptop, or you are welcome to purchase a new laptop. 13" is preferred but we are open to whatever you can offer. Feel free to contact us to discuss!
Lynda.com provides online tutorials for an array of software programs that our staff and volunteers use on a daily basis...and for many programs we would use if we had the training. Ordering us an annual subscription to Lynda.com will enable us to do our jobs more efficiently and skillfully.
We seek headlights for night-time frogging. Note from Dr. Kerry Kriger: Frogging in the rainforest at night is extremely dangerous. During my Ph.D. research I compiled a list of the Top 7 Most Likely Ways To Die While Frogging. From slipping on a slippery rock and bashing your head to getting bitten by a green mamba, the last thing you want is to have to depend on a bad hand-held light.
Princeton Tec Apex 2010 Headlamp - We seek two of these.
Save The Frogs has created a Wish List on Amazon. Have a look at some of the books we would like to read, pick one that you think would be a great gift, and let Amazon ship it directly to us! Thanks!
At SAVE THE FROGS!, we give over 80 educational presentations each year, and most of these use slideshows. As such, we need a quality data projector so that we do not have to rely on the hosting organization to have one -- often they do not, or they have a very poor quality projector. The better the projection, the more well-received the presentation, and the more people who are inspired to SAVE THE FROGS!. If you or your business can donate one, please contact us!
All that junk mail that comes to our office is not just a nuisance: junk mail is also an environmental nightmare! The nonprofit organization 41pounds.org will stop all our junk mail for 5 years AND donate $15 to SAVE THE FROGS! if you order us their service, which only costs a one-time fee of $41 (one dollar for every pound of junk mail the average American receives each year). All you have to do when you order is list SAVE THE FROGS! as the recipient of the $15 donation. Thanks!
Data loggers collect climate data at field sites. Weather stations are rare in Ghana, and are not accurate on the scale we need for on-the-ground studies. We seek four Hygrochron™ Temperature and Humidity iButton Data Loggers. These require a special order; if you can get them for us, please contact us.
