In an effort to raise awareness of the plight of amphibians, SAVE THE FROGS! Founder Dr. Kerry Kriger lectured on the amphibian extinction crisis at over 40 venues throughout North and Central America in 2009, including the National Geographic Society, the California Academy of Sciences and the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute. SAVE THE FROGS! had an informational table out at the 1st Annual Sustainable Sammamish Event held at City Hall 4-7pm. Thanks to volunteers Steve and Rochelle for running the table!

SAVE THE FROGS! Executive Director Dr. Kerry Kriger gave a course at the Smithsonian Tropical Research institute entitled "Capacitación y aplicación de la técnica molecular de PCR en tiempo real para el estudio de epidemias en anfibios" (Instruction and application of real-time PCR molecular techniques for the study of amphibian epidemics).
In an effort to raise awareness of the plight of amphibians, the scientific community has declared April 30th, 2010 'Save The Frogs Day'. On this day we encourage the appreciation and celebration of amphibians by people from all walks of life.
Have a look at some of the events that took place on Save The Frogs Day 2009, which was legally recognized by the Governor of Virginia, the Mayor of Vancouver, British Columbia and the Chairman of Prince William County, Virginia.
Interested in submitting your coolest frog art to our upcoming Frog Art contest? Want to win some prizes, and help spread the word about the amphibian extinction crisis? Please enter the SAVE THE FROGS! 1st Annual Frog Art Contest. Then tell your artist friends and your school's art teachers.
The general idea of the contest is that we want cool artwork that has frogs and says SAVE THE FROGS! and/or savethefrogs.com somewhere on it. We will advertise this contest widely throughout school systems worldwide, and on relevant art websites. The contest will help raise awareness for our cause, and the artwork will be used on shirts, posters, pins, etc. to raise money for SAVE THE FROGS!.
