The Wild World of Frogs

A presentation by Dr. Kerry M. Kriger
SAVE THE FROGS! Founder, Executive Director & Ecologist

How long do frogs live? How many types of frogs are there? What's the difference between a frog and a toad? Why are frogs disappearing worldwide and what can be done to save them? Dr. Kriger answers all these questions and more as he introduces the audience to The Wild World of Frogs. The presentation features many of Dr. Kriger's photos of amphibians from around the world, and there will be a question and answer session following the presentation.

Frog Talk

Testimonials

"He just had them all totally engaged. He had great slides and a great rapport with these kids, talking about why frogs matter. I know that he's a serious scientist, but I'm equally impressed with people when they can keep an auditorium full of kids engaged."
--Mike Rotkin, Mayor of Santa Cruz, CA

"Hi Kerry, I have gotten rave comments about your presentation to us on Tuesday! It was an excellent turnout. We had several people from our contaminants program, our National Coordinator for Aquatic Animal Health, plus endangered species, refuges, and many people from our Fisheries and Habitat Conservation program. We had a division chief and a college student in a career program, and your range of information from basic to technical addressed everyone's interests. Afterwards, the one-on-one discussions were great. Thank you so much for taking your time to speak to our staff!"
--Susan Jewell, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Injurious Wildlife Listing Coordinator; Fisheries and Habitat Conservation

"Hi Kerry, thank you so much for a wonderful lecture. I think the students got a lot out of it. Good on you for starting this organization and best of luck to your efforts!"
-- Chris Wilmers, Assistant Professor, Environmental Studies Department, University of California, Santa Cruz

Jean Brennan Frogs"Kerry, I just wanted to say THANKS! again for your presentation. As you could tell the Defenders staff was very interested in your work. Very best of luck to you."
--Dr. Jean Brennan

"Hi Kerry, it was great to have you at the docent meeting last night. You walked that fine line of doom and gloom and being hopeful and came out ahead! It is never enough to hear about the problems if there are no solutions presented. It was great to see folks walking away from your presentation inspired after getting briefed on the severity of the situation, knowing that they could make a crucial difference. One docent has already told me that they are considering putting a frog pond on their property! So thank you for your time and energy, it is definitely appreciated."
-- Daniel Williford
State Park Interpreter I - Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park

"Kerry, you were one of our top presenters--still can't get over your frog imitations. You were so full of energy and love for the naked ones, and your convictions hit everyone hard. For a while at least, and I hope for good, we wanted to go to war for the embattled amphibians. You had some of the best supported rationale for protecting our wild Earth and toning down our sloppy greediness. Thank you! Best always and success of the highest order."
--Carolyn Pankow, Friends of San Pedro Valley County Park

"Hello Kerry, That was a brilliant and informative presentation!"
--Dr. Bright Kankam, Head of Wildlife, Forestry Research Institute of Ghana

"Kerry, On behalf of our San Lorenzo Rotary Club, I want to thank you again for speaking to our club several weeks ago. Your informative presentation on the need to proactively protect the wetlands ecosystem, particularly frogs and other amphibians was greatly appreciated."

I know I and many others really enjoyed it and were inspired by your dedication and passionate work towards saving the frogs. What type of work could I get involved in helping SAVE THE FROGS? Again, thanks so much for your time and inspiring work!"
