DRUMMING FOR THE FROGS!

SAVE THE FROGS! invites drummers, music lovers and frog lovers of all ages to the Drumming For The Frogs extravaganza at San Francisco's oceanside Sharp Park Wetlands on the 4th Annual Save The Frogs Day, April 28th, 2012. Featuring hiking, live music, and presentations by SAVE THE FROGS! Founder Dr. Kerry Kriger and amphibian biologists from UC Berkeley and San Francisco State University, this will be a fantastic way to enjoy your Save The Frogs Day.

This inaugural event is both a celebration of the federally endangered California Red-Legged Frog, and a protest intended to raise awareness of the City of San Francisco's illegal killing of the frogs each year when they drain the wetlands to create dry land for a money-losing public golf course. Bring your family and friends and of course your drum! Please mark your calendar and spread the word!

SAVE THE FROGS!

Amphibian populations have been rapidly disappearing worldwide and nearly one-third of the world's amphibian species are on the verge of extinction. Up to 200 species have completely disappeared since 1979. Frogs and other amphibians face an array of threats from climate change to habitat destruction; pesticide use; over-collection for frog legs and dissections; invasive species; and infectious diseases spread by human activity. Frogs eat mosquitoes, provide us with medical advances, serve as food for birds, fish and monkeys, and their tadpoles filter our drinking water. Plus they look and sound cool, and kids love them!

Save The Frogs MemberFounded in 2008, SAVE THE FROGS! is America's first and only public charity dedicated to amphibian conservation. Our mission is to protect amphibian populations and to promote a society that respects and appreciates nature and wildlife. We work in California, across the USA, and around the world to prevent the extinction of amphibians, and to create a better planet for humans and wildlife. SAVE THE FROGS! is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) organization. Please become a member, place a tax-deductible contribution, and support our worldwide amphibian conservation efforts. Thanks! Together we can SAVE THE FROGS!

“When we save the frogs, we’re protecting all our wildlife, all our ecosystems and all humans.”
-- SAVE THE FROGS! Founder Dr. Kerry Kriger; Washington DC, Save The Frogs Day, April 29th 2011
