Tutoring - Math, Science & SAT

Chemistry Tutor - FairfaxHi, my name is Kerry Kriger and I tutor in Manassas, Centreville, Fairfax, Burke, Chantilly and Gainesville. I have been teaching math, science and SAT (math/reading/writing) since 2001.

This includes (1) private tutoring from 6th grade through university-level, both independently and for many of the local tutoring agencies; (2) teaching SAT preparation to small classes; (3) lecturing university mathematics, chemistry, ecology and vertebrate biology.

I have a Ph.D. in Environmental Science from Griffith University in Gold Coast, Australia, and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Virginia. Aside from teaching I also do research on endangered frogs, a topic on which I have published 12 articles in peer-reviewed international scientific journals. I am currently the Executive Director of SAVE THE FROGS!, the nonprofit organization that is hosting this web page. I also study and teach music. You can view my resume here.

SAT Tutor - Fairfax CentrevilleI have a flexible schedule, and can come to your home, workplace or a library. My rate is $50/hr, and I generally find that it is best to do 90 minute sessions.

Please contact me at 703-376-7945 or email me at kmk5g@yahoo.com if you prefer.

I look forward to hearing from you!

Dear Dr. Kriger,

You know that you are wanted at home for Thanksgiving - don't you?! This
is your conscience speaking to you..the table is set, and your dear
mother has spent hours preparing a delicious Thanksgiving dinner: the
turkey, baked to a crispy perfection with steamy stuffing, lovely
homemade apple or is it pumpkin pie? (you know, I don't), cranberry
sauce (not the crap out of the can), delicately whipped mashed potatoes
with a creamy hot gravy, and all the rest of the stuff that makes
Thanksgiving special in your home. Lovely aromas waft throughout the
house. And then your loved ones - they have tears slowly streaming down
their face when they see that empty chair at the table, that place where
you, Dr. Kriger, normally sit. Oh, the anguish. Can you let this happen,
Kerry? No.

And there are several other valid reasons for coming home - home to
Virginia.

First. Your star pupil misses you. He claims it was your magnificent,
surreal tutoring abilities that enabled him to pass the NOVA exam into
Calculus, even though he never had pre-Cal. How did you do that? You can
not desert him now, can you? Can you?

Second. Do you really think I can find a competent replacement for you?

Third. Money. I am sure this is a real incentive. I will (without you
even asking!) give you a raise of $10 an hour. And I will volunteer
David and Bruce's time for any frog saving activities that you need up
to an hour apiece per week.

The list could go on and on. Your music lessons need to be continued.
But most of all it is about Thanksgiving and mom. (hahaha)

Get on that next plane, and your conscience will be at peace.

Sincerely,
Mrs. Ayliff, Bruce and David
