Teachers For Frogs | Webinars | Slideshows | Save The Frogs Day
Upcoming Webinars | Past Webinars

Webinars are online presentations that can be viewed by anyone with web access. They offer us the ability to teach people worldwide about amphibians and amphibian conservation. Participants have the opportunity to ask questions through a chat box or through their telephone or microphone. Webinars are especialy valuable as we record them and place them online for the permanent archival and open access to all -- even those who couldn't attend. They are also, environmentally friendly, with very low carbon emissions compared to driving to class -- or flying to a conference.
"Kerry, Great Webinar! :) That was really cool. Glad I was able to participate. I was taking notes like crazy the whole time, it was a great time to learn more deeply about some of the issues affecting frogs (frog leg sales, importing of bullfrogs, classroom dissection, etc)." -- Alana Cayabyab, South Lake Tahoe, CA

We'll have the video up soon!
"Hi Dr. Kriger and staff,
Thank you for the Webinar I enjoyed and learned a lot. You are doing a great and amazing job to preserve the wildlife of this beautiful planet!!!"
--Diana Celiz, Guaymas, Mexico
Dr. Phil Bishop of New Zealand's University of Otago presented a very special one-hour webinar on the Frogs of New Zealand. Dr. Bishop introduced the audience to the amazing life histories of New Zealand's four frog species, and detailed the threats they currently face. The slideshow presentation features many of Dr. Bishop's photos of New Zealand's unique amphibian fauna and there was a question and answer session following the presentation.

"Thanks for enabling this webinar. It was my first experience and I thought it was excellent. Phil made an outstanding presentation as usual and it was heartening to hear him advocate the opposition of current mining proposals that will further threaten the continue existence of these unique New Zealand animals.
Thanks again."
--Richard Jakob-Hoff, Auckland City Government
"This was my first webinar and I have to say I'm very happy about this set up as a use for the technology we have. I thoroughly enjoyed the topic and the presentation. As a Kiwi I hope that this results in more submissions and support for those of us who are strongly opposed to mining our conservation land. Thanks!"

"Hello Annie,
My sincerest thanks to you and Dr. Kriger for so generously addressing the questions of our students. They will be so excited to see this webcast. These kinds of experiences really allow children to feel that their voices are important, and that what they think and wonder is heard and valued in the context of the actual world, rather than just a hypothetical situation created for the purpose of classroom learning.
Have a wonderful day. Best Wishes"
