SAVE THE FROGS! seeks the assistance of an experienced accountant or bookkeeper with knowledge in Quickbooks, charts of accounts and basic accounting principles. Experience with 501(c)(3) nonprofits preferred, but not required. This unpaid volunteer position entails a minimum of three hours per week. SAVE THE FROGS! is looking for a volunteer to help us promote our annual SAVE THE FROGS! Art Contest (http://savethefrogs.com/art). This would entail internet-based research to compile a list of art museums and art colleges, as well as spreading the word of the contest to professional and amateur artists. Successful applicant will work directly with the Executive Director. This project requires 5 hours per week from now through October. Please apply only if you have 5 hours per week through October. This is a non-paid volunteer position.

SAVE THE FROGS! is looking for students to promote our cause and raise awareness of amphibian extinctions on their campus. This entails any of the following:
--Posting flyers around campus
--Starting an official Save The Frogs Club
--Holding a film screening of The Thin Green Line on campus
--Giving short presentations on frog extinctions
--Setting up and promoting a presentation by our Executive Director.
--Talking to relevant teachers and professors to get them and their students involved in our activities (e.g. Art Classes taking part in the Frog Art Contest, Film students making films about frogs, Biology classes focusing on frog issues on Save The Frogs Day, etc...)

SAVE THE FROGS! is looking for a Santa Cruz based volunteer to assist with data entry (mostly signatures collected from our petitions). This would entail coming to our office once per week to enter data into Excel. This project requires three to five hours per week. This is a non-paid volunteer position.

SAVE THE FROGS! is looking for a Santa Cruz based volunteer to assist our Executive Director. This would entail coming to our office once or twice per week for four hours. Duties include mailing thank you letters to donors, doing basic internet research, packing and shipping merchandise orders (no heavy lifting), as well as lots of other tasks that need to get done. This is the single best way to learn the ins and outs of the organization. This is a non-paid volunteer position.

This is an unpaid position, though we would certainly acknowledge your assistance on our website. SAVE THE FROGS! is looking for an experienced Santa Cruz-based graphic designer to assist in our marketing campaigns and creating merchandise. This is an unpaid position. Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign preferred. Graphic Designer would work directly with the Executive Director. This would entail coming to our office once per week for four hours, and working at home for four hours per week as well. SAVE THE FROGS! is looking for an experienced Santa Cruz-based film editor to take our raw footage of presentations and other frog-related activities, and create intro/outro with credits etc so that we have complete videos that are in a presentable state for our website and for YouTube.
Film Editor could also handle our YouTube account, learning and implementing YouTube's Nonprofit Editions technologies to maximize the impact of the videos and maximize its value. This includes learning YouTube's Video Contest technologies, which allows users to upload videos directly to the SAVE THE FROGS! YouTube Channel.
This is an unpaid position. Film Editor would work directly with the Executive Director. This would entail coming to our office once per week for four hours, and working at home for four hours per week as well. SAVE THE FROGS! is looking for an experienced film maker to create short films/documentaries to help us promote our cause and raise awareness of amphibian extinctions in the general public. This could entail conducting interviews, filming our events (indoor and outdoor), making animated films, or whatever your creative side dictates.
Some possible film topics:
--Eradicating invasive American Bullfrogs from the state of California
--Getting the harmful pesticide Atrazine banned
--Ending the frog legs trade
--Ending the frog dissection trades
--The effect of climate change on frogs
--Footage of kids learning about frogs
--Interviews of people in the street, asking them what they know about frogs
--Filming SAVE THE FROGS! presentations
--Film explaining the threats to frogs, why frogs are important, what people can do to help, what SAVE THE FROGS! is doing.
--Short film to promote our Frog Art or Poetry Contests.
Films would be placed on our website and on YouTube, and possibly on DVD. Filmmaker would work directly with the Executive Director, and get their work exposed to a large audience. Filmmaker's name would be in credits and publicized on our website.

SAVE THE FROGS! is based in Santa Cruz, and is looking for a volunteer to assist us in setting up our December 11th Frog Art Fundraiser that will take place at the Top of the Ritt in downtown Santa Cruz. Volunteer would work directly with the Executive Director. This would entail coming to our office once per week for four hours, and working at home for four hours per week as well. Previous experience in event management or fundraisers is preferred. Location: Santa Cruz area
SAVE THE FROGS! seeks an experienced network administrator to help us set up our new Dell server and migrate our website and other data to the server. Our server is located in Santa Cruz.

SAVE THE FROGS! would like to have a regularly occurring series of podcasts where we interview amphibian biologists and other people relevant to the amphibian conservation movement. SAVE THE FROGS! is looking for an experienced biologist or journalist who can conduct these interviews, and who has the technological expertise to record the podcasts and get them onto iTunes.

SAVE THE FROGS! seeks a Santa Cruz based volunteer to post fliers for our upcoming event at Antonelli Pond on March 6. Antonelli Pond is home to the endangered California Red-Legged frog and SAVE THE FROGS! is currently restoring habitat there to increase the number of California Red-Legged frogs. This is the flier you will be posting.
You will be posting fliers in downtown Santa Cruz and on the Westside, and will be provided with 50-100 pre-printed fliers. This is a non-paid volunteer position.

SAVE THE FROGS! seeks Washington DC based volunteers to post fliers in the surrounding area to promote our upcoming Save the Frogs Day Rally, which will take place in Washington, DC on the 3rd Annual Save The Frogs Day, April 29th, 2011. Our goal is to raise awareness of frog extinctions and of pesticide Atrazine, which is an endocrine disruptor that can turn male frogs into females at 2.5 parts per billion.

SAVE THE FROGS! is looking for a Santa Cruz based volunteer to assist us in our campaign to end the ecologically damaging frog legs trade, which you can read about at http://savethefrogs.com/froglegs
Volunteer would work directly with the Executive Director. This would entail coming to our office once per week for four hours, and working at home for four hours per week as well. Duties include doing internet research to compile a list of restaurants that sell frog legs, and mailing letters to those restaurants to educate them about the problems with frog legs and ask them to remove frog legs from their menus. Location: Santa Cruz area
SAVE THE FROGS! is looking for a Santa Cruz based volunteer to assist us in our campaign to end the sales of wild-caught amphibians for use as pets. Volunteer would work directly with the Executive Director. This would entail coming to our office once per week for four hours, and working at home for four hours per week as well. Duties include doing internet research to compile a list of vendors that sell frog legs, and mailing letters to those vendors to educate them about the problems with the pet trade and ask them to switch to only captive-raised animals.

There are no published papers quantifying the magnitude or specifics of the frog dissection trade. Until such information exists, it will be difficult to stop the practice of frog dissections in middle and high schools. SAVE THE FROGS! is looking for a volunteer to gather data on the trade, with the eventual goal of writing an article suitable for publication in a scientific journal.
Volunteer would work directly with the Executive Director. This would entail coming to our office once per week for four hours, and working at home for four hours per week as well.

SAVE THE FROGS! is looking for a Santa Cruz, Monterey or SF Bay Area based volunteer to assist us with running informational tables at farmer's markets, universities, festivals and other events. Volunteer would work with experienced tabler with the eventual goal of being able to work independently. Volunteer must have excellent communication skills and enjoy talking to be people. Sales experience is a plus, as volunteer will be selling t-shirts and other goods, and signing up new members. Assistant will also work with hosting organizations to help us schedule times for our tables.

SAVE THE FROGS! seeks a volunteer to contact retail companies within Santa Cruz and around the country, with a goal of getting our eco-friendly goods stocked by large distributors. This would increase our organization's visibility and revenues. Volunteer would gain real-life sales and marketing experience, and would work under the supervision of the Executive Director.
