Video: Volunteering for SAVE THE FROGS!

All people interested in volunteering should watch this video. This is a SAVE THE FROGS! Academy class in which SAVE THE FROGS! Founder Dr. Kerry Kriger discusses volunteering and the multitude of ways you can help SAVE THE FROGS!. Note: we no longer require you to volunteer four hours per six months (though we still appreciate you aiming for that!).

Video: Tabling & Effective Communication of our Mission

Please watch this excellent video about how to most effectively communicate the SAVE THE FROGS! vision when you are volunteering and talking to the general public about frog conservation.

What we expect of volunteers

We are looking for volunteers who are pro-active, motivated, and dedicated. Creativity and independence is a huge bonus. We are looking for reliable people. If your application is accepted and you are chosen for an official volunteer position, please aim to volunteer for at least four hours per week. We understand some weeks you will not have time or may be away on vacation. We are investing our time to train you, so please volunteer with your best effort.

If you accept a SAVE THE FROGS! Volunteer position, please:
1- Respond to emails in a timely manner.
2- Complete the tasks you accept in a timely manner or inform us if you are unable to do so.
3- Track your hours and then report your hours to us monthly.
Thank you!

Ways anybody can help SAVE THE FROGS!

There are so many ways that anybody can help SAVE THE FROGS! without even needing to apply to volunteer. We strongly encourage you to take the time to do some of the activities below PRIOR to applying for a more official volunteer position. Then when you apply you can tell us what you already did to SAVE THE FROGS!

Educate yourself on savethefrogs.com

The more educated you are, the more effective an advocate you will be both for the frogs and for SAVE THE FROGS!. Thus everyone should spend a minimum of four hours surfing savethefrogs.com. We have hundreds of pages on the site! Educate yourself, familiarize yourself with what SAVE THE FROGS! is all about.

Sign up for our newsletter right now!

This is the #1 way to keep up to date with what SAVE THE FROGS! is up to, so please sign up now! And be sure to at least skim through the newsletters.

Attend SAVE THE FROGS! Academy classes

The goal of the SAVE THE FROGS! Academy free online classes is to educate YOU about frogs and to get you actively involved in a wide range of our activities. This is an amazing free educational resource that all frog conservationists should take advantage of.

Post flyers

Go to our Spread The Word page, and print and post some of the flyers in school or around town.

Email 10 friends

Send out an email to ten people telling them about frog extinctions and savethefrogs.com. Make it look real, not like a spam letter: include some real information about frog extinctions.

Organize a Save The Frogs Day event

Save The Frogs DayOur Save The Frogs Day page has tons of info on how you can set up an event in your town or school!

Fix your automated signature

Add www.savethefrogs.com to your email's automated signature and help us get the word out.

Collect signatures

Print the Save The Frogs Day petition. Fill up at least one page with your friends/coworkers' signatures, then send it to us. This is a fantastic way to spread the word and educate people, and it will help us get Save The Frogs Day legally recognized in your state.

Fundraise: it's fun & important!

Tell your friends frogs are the most threatened group of animals on the planet and you're trying to raise money for SAVE THE FROGS!. Collect $1 from each of 20 friends. It's only a buck! Carry an envelope around with you. When someone gives you a dollar (or five), put it in the envelope, as it looks more professional. This is a fantastic way to spread the word and raise funds, all at the same time. Don't be shy! Get more fundraising tips and ideas here. Oh yeah, please remember to send us the money you raised! Thanks!

Talk to teachers

Contact your local teachers to inform them of Save The Frogs Day, and the Frog Poetry Contest and Frog Art Contest.

Easy school project

If you are a student, write an article about frog extinctions (mentioning savethefrogs.com!) for your school newspaper. Talk about frog extinctions on your school's radio station.

Frog Legs In Your Community?

You may not have suspected it, but if you search the web for FROG LEGS & YOUR STATE or CITY you will likely find restaurants and supermarkets in your community that sell frog legs. Call them up, ask to speak to the manager. Inform them that frogs are disappearing and that the frog legs trade is decimating frog populations. Ask them to discontinue sales. Be pleasant. Inform us of the result. Be sure to collect all contact information of the restaurant and the person(s) with whom you spoke.

Who's dissecting frogs in your town?

Compile a list of schools in your area that dissect frogs. Send us the list. Thanks!

Read our How To Help page!

Check out our How To Help page for lots of ways to improve your ecological footprint and otherwise help the frogs and the planet.

What volunteers are saying

“The biggest reason I’ve stayed with Dr. Kriger for so long (since 2008!) is his dedication and passion for this cause. I just knew from the beginning that if anyone was going to get the word out there it would be him and I wanted to help!"
-- Alyson Lee; Volunteer Graphic Designer, Worcester, MA

"I have deep admiration for Kerry and his endeavors. He shows us all that each of us can make a difference, if we try. I consider it a privilege to contribute towards his efforts."
--SAVE THE FROGS! Volunteer Choti Singh
