SAVE THE FROGS joins 425 conservation groups in supporting the Endangered Species Act

Four hundred and twenty-five national, state, and local conservation groups – including SAVE THE FROGS – recently sent a letter to the United States Senate and House leadership to demonstrate their overwhelming support for the popular Endangered Species Act. The organizations argued strongly for maintaining the Act in its current form and not let it be weakened under the guise of efforts to “modernize” or “reform” this legislation. The Act has been under increasing threat in recent months and years.

Environmental Safeguards Are Not A Barrier To Improving Infrastructure

In response to President Trump’s recent infrastructure proposal, SAVE THE FROGS! and a coalition of 164 other organizations sent a letter to Congress opposing any infrastructure legislation that would undermine protections for public health, air, water or wildlife. The letter highlights the critical importance of retaining environmental safeguards while upgrading our nation’s infrastructure. SAVE THE FROGS! and coalition members recognize the need to fix aging water systems, build modern mass transit, improve road networks, and develop renewable energy sources, but it is inexcusable for politicians to cite current environmental protection measures as standing in the way of progress.

Donald Trump: An Inauguration Day Environmental Assessment

A new administration means new environmental policies. Please read on to learn about Donald's Trump and his administration's environmental records. And be sure to donate to SAVE THE FROGS! if you want us to have the means with which to improve the state of the environment, even while the Trump team works actively to destroy it.

"I like your principles and all of us will have to fight harder than ever with the anti-environmental mess that this new administration will be. I have been sick thinking about all this since the election".

Tim Kaine Supports Frog Conservation

In early 2009 I sent Vice-Presidential Candidate Tim Kaine (then Governor of Virginia) a letter asking him to officially recognize Save The Frogs Day in the Commonwealth of Virginia. You may know the story...he didn't write back. Not being one to settle for rejection, I sent him another letter. Guess what - he didn't write back. That was fine because I also have a phone. I called his office. A few days later Governor Kaine became America's first Governor to recognize Save The Frogs Day. He issued the proclamation below, citing the value of amphibians and stating:

"NOW, THEREFORE, I, Timothy M. Kaine, do hereby recognize April 28, 2009 as SAVE THE FROGS DAY in the COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA, and I call this observance to the attention of all our citizens."

Since then, Save The Frogs Day has been officially recognized by the states of North Carolina, South Carolina, Michigan, Massachusetts, Rhode Island as well as the cities of Washington DC, Vancouver BC, Santa Cruz CA, Three Rivers MI, Manassas VA and the County of Prince William, VA.
