Long-time SAVE THE FROGS! volunteer Biraj Shrestha from Nepal has won a full fellowship for two years to attend the prestigious University of California, Santa Cruz. Biraj will be enrolled in the Masters Program in Coastal Science and Policy, a recently introduced program under the faculty of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. Biraj is one of ten successful candidates chosen from a field of 115 applicants from 46 countries.

Biraj has organized multiple Save The Frogs Day events over the years and has won awards from SAVE THE FROGS! and other organizations to implement amphibian conservation and education programs in the remote Himalayas.

We wish Biraj all the good fortunes in his ambition to work for the betterment of amphibians across the planet.
