By SAVE THE FROGS! Founder, Executive Director , Ecologist and Webmaster Dr. Kerry Kriger:
I have always considered the savethefrogs.com website to be the single most valuable tool we possess. In April 2008 I read a 900 page Dreamweaver web design book and since then I’ve put over 1,000 hours of work into building the site into one of the world’s greatest sources of amphibian knowledge. With over 300 pages of freely-accessible original content, savethefrogs.com educates people all around the planet and inspires and enables them to protect frog populations. Our website is the primary reason we have active supporters in at least 39 countries, and it is an invaluable fundraising tool without which we would likely not even be able to exist. The site has been accessed by over 1,306,823 people since I built it in April 2008 and it is often people’s first introduction to SAVE THE FROGS…so there are lots of reasons we need it to be the best it can be!
But savethefrogs.com is now almost five years old and it needs a serious upgrade! The site is powered by outdated software and now we must re-build the site on modern technology that will kick the site – and our movement – into hyperdrive! The new savethefrogs.com will be look nicer, be easier to navigate, allow for far more content, attract more visitors, and generate more donations and merchandise sales. But we need your financial support to make it happen! Professional design companies have quoted me costs from $6,000 to $13,000 but I have been teaching myself the new software platform (Joomla) and estimate that I can upgrade the entire website for only $3,000.
Please help us raise $3,000 so that we can massively upgrade the savethefrogs.com website…this is SAVE THE FROGS’ most important project! Millions of future website visitors thank you in advance, and so do I! Your generous donation is tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law. Please donate to make this all possible.
The SAVE THE FROGS! Webmaster is your friendly frog-loving robot who keeps this website running 24/7/365 to ensure that frog enthusiasts around the world are educated, inspired and empowered to save frogs and other amphibians from extinction!
