June 24-25, 2014. Mass Audubon Long Pasture Sanctuary, Barnstable, Massachusetts. Hands-on Wetland Creation Workshop. Participants will help design and restore ephemeral wetlands on Cape Cod using the groundwater and surface water techniques for the rare eastern spadefoot and other wildlife species. June 30-August 8, 2014. Online Wetland Restoration Techniques Course. State University of New York-Environmental Science and Forestry (SUNY-ESF), Summer Session II. Undergraduate and Graduate level, 3-credits. The estimated cost for residents is $1,400, nonresidents $2,430. Registration closes June 2. July 29-30, 2014. Watkins Glen, New York. Wetland Restoration Techniques Practicum. State University of New York-Environmental Science and Forestry (SUNY-ESF), Summer Session II. Undergraduate and Graduate level, 1-credit. Participants will be involved in the design and actual restoration of wetlands from soil that is high in clay on the Finger Lakes National Forest near Watkins Glen, New York. The estimated cost for residents is $496, nonresidents $850. Registration is open until July 28. This course may be taken alone or in conjunction with the online Wetland Restoration Techniques Class at SUNY-ESF. September 6-12, 2014. Vancouver Island, British Columbia. Eastern Vancouver Island Wetlands Institute. You’ll learn how to restore wetlands, manage wetlands, and monitor wetland plants and animals at this exciting week-long session. There is no charge for this training that is valued at $1,000.
